General FAQ

Payment FAQ

Do I have to be autistic, ADHD or camera shy to work with you?

No. About half my clients are, and my whole process is built around what makes those things easier. But you don't need to tick any of those boxes to book with me. If you want photos and messaging that sound and look like you, and you'd rather work with someone patient and who cares about getting you the results you seek, then you're in the right place.

What happens after I book a discovery call?

You'll get a confirmation email with the call details, plus a reminder on the day so it's one less thing to hold in your head. There's nothing else you need to do before we speak other than come with your questions and an open mind. If for any reason you are unable to attend, please let us know so we can offer the time to someone else. It also protects our time so we can be present for our clients.

What happens after I sign up for a programme or shoot?

If you decide to go ahead during the call, I'll take a deposit there and then to hold your spot and lock in your rate. After that you'll get confirmation of any onboarding call needed, your contract, an invoice for the remaining balance, a welcome guide, and anything else specific to what you've booked.

Do I need to prepare for my discovery call?

A little prep helps, but it isn't compulsory. It's useful if you come with a few questions, any ideas for a shoot, or a sense of your 3, 6 and 12 month goals. That way the call is a proper conversation rather than a one-way conversations. It also allows you to confidently make the decision right for you, feeling informed and comfortable with your decision.

How do you actually work with clients? What's your pace and communication style like?

Steadily and clearly, with no surprises. I tell you what's happening and when, I don't rush calls or shoots, and I build in breaks and processing time as standard rather than something you have to ask for. If you are busy, please don't worry. I respect your time and am clear from the start and throughout how we are going and if a further call or session is required due to time constraints then we can make that decision on the day. If a particular working style helps you, more written instructions, extra time to answer, things broken into smaller steps, just tell me. That's normal for me, not an inconvenience.

Where are you based, and do you work with people outside the UK?

I'm based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Photography is remote by default, so I work with clients wherever you are. In-person sessions are currently only available within North Yorkshire.

Do you only offer daytime hours?

Not at all. As I work with clients around the world, and I work best in the afternoon and evening, my working hours are generally between 11am and 9pm BST during the week, and Saturday by appointment for clients within my programs if required. I am closed on Sundays for rest and family time as this is important for all of us. While I cannot guarantee it will be possible, if you need a time out of my normally scheduled hours, feel free to ask. If I can accomodate it, I will.

Are you closed at any point in the year?

Yes, as it is generally a very quiet time of year, I close fully every December. If you're on one of my programmes, this is planned into your timeline and support in advance, so nothing gets missed or delayed unexpectedly. I am generally open the rest of the year, with the exception of bank holidays and any special events I may be attending. You can always find the current hours and closures on the events and contact page of this website, or on social media.

How can I pay?

Please see your terms and conditions for the most up-to-date information on payments. In general, if you are paying in USD, I take credit card, PayPal or wire transfer via Wise. In GBP, it's credit card, wire transfer via Wise, or BACS. Bank or wire transfer is my preference where possible, and will save you money as a thank you for allowing me to keep costs down. I can also accept payments in CAD or EUR by wire transfer if you need that, so just ask. In general, I do not accept cheques unless agreed upon in advance and payment clears before services commence.

Can I pay in instalments?

On some packages, yes. Where approved, you can split the balance over up to 4 payments, either by standing card payment or manually through the payment link on my website. Please note that contract terms may apply and any late or missed payments will incur interest until paid, and may result in cancellation and immediate payment of your balance in full if it happens repeatedly or we have no communication from you. If you have a concern, we want to find a solution when possible so please reach out to discuss at [email protected].

What's your refund policy?

Deposits and payments for brand shoots, and any single coaching or design service, are non-refundable 48 hours prior to your session being held. At my discretion, I can move that amount onto your account for future services instead, valid for 12 months. On select programmes of 3 months or longer, I offer a happiness guarantee: you can cancel within the first 30 days and won't be responsible for any further costs. Please note any unpaid for products or photos will not be released until payment in full has been received. This is in order to cover our time and to protect my copyright.

Photography FAQ

What should I wear?

We'll talk this through on your discovery call or before your shoot, based on your brand and what you're comfortable in. Bring options (or have a variety available) if you're unsure. There's time built into your session for wardrobe changes, so you're not stuck with the first outfit if it isn't working.

How long does a session take?

A Seen and Trusted Photoshoot runs 2 to 3 hours. If that feels like a lot in one go, or you want more than one location, it can be split into two shorter sessions instead.

How does a remote session actually work?

I shoot the photos, but you'll help set up your phone with my guidance throughout so we get the shots we need. You'll need your phone fully charged and either home internet or public wifi to connect. I guide you on posing the whole way through, and there's time for wardrobe changes, short breaks, or someone else helping you (holding the phone, for example) if that makes it easier. Your photos come to me through an encrypted folder within the platform, so they're not sitting in yours or someone else's phone camera roll, and I send the finished images back to you by encrypted email.

What if I'm nervous about being on camera or on a video call?

That's most of my clients, so this is exactly what my process is built around. I don't do the "just relax and be yourself" thing, because that rarely helps anyone. Instead I give you clear gentle direction the whole time, what to do with your hands, your face, where to look, so you're never guessing. You also get a free tech check before your session, so the technical side is sorted in advance and isn't an added worry on the day.

What's the difference between remote and in-person?

Remote is the default and works wherever you are. In-person is currently only available within North Yorkshire, agreed during your discovery call, with a surcharge depending on location and any extra costs like venue hire, permits or parking.

How long until I get my photos, and how many do I get?

Turnaround varies a bit depending on the time of year, but it's usually 14 days or less. I'll keep you updated on key dates throughout, so you're never left wondering. The number of photos also depends on the type of session you have. Please see your terms and conditions, or ask me if you need clarification.

Can I see my photos before they're finished, and what if I don't like them?

Yes, you get a complimentary review meeting after your shoot to look through your images and check they're right for you. I'd really encourage you to take this, because if you choose to skip it, you won't be able to raise concerns about the photos afterwards.

What if my tech fails during a remote session?

As long as you've done one of my free tech checks beforehand, you're covered by a 100% reshoot guarantee if the technology unexpectedly fails on the day. This guarantee doesn't cover other issues, no-shows, or simply not liking your photos.

What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

For remote sessions, I need at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule. For in-person, it's at least 14 days. Anything less is at my discretion and non-refundable, unless there's an extenuating reason I've agreed to in advance. Any incidental costs already paid, like venue hire or a makeup artist, aren't refundable either way. No-shows forfeit any money paid, and rescheduling after a no-show is by my approval only.

Coaching FAQ

How do coaching sessions actually work?

It depends on the programme. Some support is async (see below), some includes live group coaching and community, and the 12 month Pathway blends done-for-you and done-with-you support. Whichever you're on, you'll know exactly what to expect from your welcome guide.

What does "async" mean?

It means you message me your questions through a dedicated platform whenever they come up, rather than waiting for a scheduled call. I reply during my coaching hours, usually within 48 hours, by whichever of email, text, video or audio suits the question best. It's built for people who want to keep moving without needing a call for every question, especially if calls aren't your preferred way of communicating.

How many questions can I ask?

That depends on which programme or membership you're on. I'll confirm your allowance when you join.

How much time do I need to put in each week?

It's different for everyone, but for coaching, plan on at least 2 hours a week to keep momentum. Some weeks you might do more, some less. What matters is that you keep moving forward at a pace that works for you.

Which programme is right for me?

If you're time poor and want questions answered quickly so you can get on with things yourself, the Async Membership is likely the fit. If you want more structure with assignments, plus group coaching and a community for accountability, the Trusted Brand Success Programme adds that layer. If you want everything handled consistently across your whole visual brand, a mix of me doing it for you and with you, without juggling several different professionals, that's what the 12 month Seen and Trusted Pathway is for. Not sure which one? That's exactly what the discovery call is for. You can book HERE.

Is there a guarantee?

On select programmes of 3 months or longer, yes. If it's not right for you, you can cancel within the first 30 days and won't be responsible for any further costs. If you have made a partial or full payment, you will be refunded all apart from the first month, which will be retained for services already performed.
